In this program, Learners will be introduced the components of building construction. This course will examine the five types of NFPA classifications for building construction. Loads, structural components, and how fire and other emergencies impact building design and construction will be explored. The components of building systems, their effects on building design and construction, and how structures act under fire and other emergency situations will be examined as well.
This self-paced course introduces key concepts and terms to prepare learners to earn their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Associate v4™ accreditation. The course is divided into modules that explain LEED® process, LEED® certification, and the knowledge domains associated with the seven LEED® rating systems, in a simple and straightforward way that can be quickly and easily understood.
Throughout the course, comprehension and understanding of important topics will be tested through challenging exercises and interactive games. Quizzes and tests will also be employed to ensure that learners have a clear grasp of the critical details they'll need to know as LEED Green Associates™.

Learners who complete this program are eligible to participate in an optional volunteer externship opportunity with a local company/agency/organization whose work aligns with this area of study in order to gain valuable hands-on experience. As learners progress through their eLearning program, an Externship Coordinator will reach out to coordinate placement.
